Johnnie Walker Blue Label
The top of the range, made from whiskies so rare that only one in ten thousand casks is good enough. Chocolate, ripe fruit, and a long finish of honey and smoke. A whisky to savor slowly.

One cask in ten thousand
Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a blend of the rarest and most exceptional whiskies in the house's reserves: aged malt and grain whiskies from Scotland. According to the brand, only one in every ten thousand casks has the quality, character, and flavor required for this blend. There is no age statement on the bottle; selection by cask is the starting point.
In the glass, that means a whisky that is velvety smooth, with chocolate, sweet and ripe fruit, and a spicy, smoky, honeyed finish. The alcohol content is 40%, the same as the rest of the range. Blue Label is the bottle for a special occasion and a classic gift for anyone who loves whisky.
In brief
Velvety, chocolate, and honeyed smoke
Ripe fruit
Sweet, ripe fruit, with a warm, deep aroma that slowly opens up when you let the glass stand for a moment.
Chocolate
Smooth and full-bodied, with chocolate and sweet fruit. No harsh edges, and the alcohol remains surprisingly in the background.
Honey, spice, and smoke
A smooth, long finish that is spicy, smoky, and honeyed. This is where it differs from the younger labels.
Blue Label's flavor profile neat, after a sip of ice water. Served warm, the honey and smoke stand out more.
This is how to taste Blue Label
The brand has its own ritual for it: ice water first, then the whisky. No ice in the glass, no soft drink.
The ice water ritual
First take a sip of ice-cold water to cleanse and cool your mouth. Then pour 30 ml of Blue Label into a tulip glass and take a small sip. The cold brings out the sweetness and fruitiness even more.
Tasting glasses →Slowly, in three steps
Smell first with your mouth slightly open, then take a small sip and let it move around your mouth. Wait a moment and focus on the finish: honey, spices and smoke only emerge after a few seconds.
Glass: tasting glass →With dark chocolate
30 ml in a thin crystal glass alongside a piece of dark chocolate. Taste them alternately: it brings out the chocolate notes in the whisky more clearly.
Whisky glasses →Still want to mix with Blue Label?
Honestly: Blue Label is a whisky to drink neat. If you still want to make a cocktail with it, choose recipes consisting almost entirely of whisky.

Old Fashioned
Whisky, a little sugar and bitters over a large ice cube. The most luxurious way to mix a top whisky.
Rusty Nail
Scotch with a small dash of Drambuie. Go easy on the liqueur so the honey of Blue Label remains noticeable.
Rob Roy
Scotch, sweet vermouth and bitters, stirred and strained. A stylish cocktail for a special evening.
