Jim Beam Black Extra Aged
The Jim Beam that spent four extra years in the wood. Fuller and darker than White Label, at 43%, with caramel, cinnamon and a long, warm finish. A bourbon to drink neat or on the rocks.

Four extra years in charred oak
Jim Beam Black Extra Aged starts as the same Kentucky bourbon as White Label, but receives four extra years of aging in charred white oak barrels. During those years, the bourbon draws more color and flavor from the wood: more caramel, more vanilla, more oak and a spicy touch of cinnamon.
It is also bottled at a higher strength: 43% instead of 40%. This gives it more body and a longer finish. While White Label is primarily a mixer for cola and ginger ale, Black is made to drink neat or over ice, and to give classic bourbon cocktails more depth.
In brief
Deep, warm and long
Caramel and oak
Rich caramel and vanilla with toasted oak. Darker and fuller than the White Label.
Cinnamon and blackcurrant
Smooth and full-bodied, with caramel, cinnamon and a hint of blackcurrant. The 43% gives it body without harshness.
Warming and long
A warming, smooth and long finish of oak and spices.
Jim Beam Black's flavor profile when tasted neat. On the rocks, it becomes smoother and the caramel comes forward more.
Neat, on the rocks or stirred
Jim Beam Black is made to drink without a soft drink. Choose between neat, over one ice cube or in a stirred classic.
On the rocks
50 ml Jim Beam Black over one large ice cube in a heavy tumbler. Let it sit for a minute: the caramel and cinnamon emerge as the ice melts.
Tumblers →Tasting neat
30 ml in a tasting glass at room temperature. Taste it first without water, then with a few drops; notice how the blackcurrant comes forward.
Tasting glasses →Bourbon Manhattan
Stir 50 ml Jim Beam Black, 25 ml sweet vermouth and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters with ice, then strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a cocktail cherry.

Boulevardier
Bourbon, Campari and sweet vermouth. The caramel in Black tempers the bitterness.
Sazerac
Whiskey, sugar and bitters in a glass rinsed with anise. Short and aromatic.
Whiskey Sour
