Patrón Reposado
The Patrón that has rested for a while: at least two months in oak barrels, long enough for vanilla and caramel, but short enough to keep the cooked agave at the forefront. Smooth enough to drink neat, rounded enough for a Tequila Old Fashioned.

What two months in oak does to agave
Reposado simply means a tequila that has rested in wood for a while after distillation. Patrón Reposado starts as the same tequila as the Silver, handcrafted from 100% blue agave and distilled in small batches in copper stills at Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco. It then ages for at least two months in various oak barrels.
That short aging period changes more than you might think. The wood gives it a light golden color and layers vanilla and caramel over the agave, while the Silver's citrus and pepper become softer. Compared with the Añejo, which is aged for more than a year, the Reposado remains fresher and more agave-forward. That makes it the most versatile bottle in the range: enjoyable neat, but also robust enough for a cocktail.
In brief
Agave with a layer of vanilla and caramel
Agave and oak
Sweet cooked agave takes the lead, with an initial hint of vanilla and light oak. The Silver's citrus is still there, but softer.
Round and slightly sweet
Rounder than the Silver, with caramel and vanilla that soften the agave's pepperiness. The tahona juice gives it body.
Warm and soft
A warm, rounded finish with vanilla and oak, followed at the end by a hint of pepper.
Flavor profile of Patrón Reposado neat, at room temperature. A large ice cube makes it softer and sweeter.
Sipping neat, on ice or stirred
Reposado calls for slow sipping. Taste it neat first, then try it with ice or in a cocktail.
Sipping neat
3 cl in a tulip-shaped tasting glass at room temperature. Smell first, then take a small sip and let it rest on your tongue for a moment: first agave, then vanilla and caramel.
Tasting glasses →On the rocks
5 cl over one large ice cube in a heavy tumbler, with a strip of orange peel. The ice softens the wood and brings out the sweeter side.
Tumblers →Tequila Old Fashioned
60 ml Patrón Reposado, 7.5 ml agave syrup and 2 dashes of Angostura, stir with ice and strain over a large ice cube. Garnish with orange peel.
Old Fashioned recipe →Cocktails where the Reposado makes the difference
In these cocktails, the short aging period brings a little more warmth and roundness than an unaged tequila.

Tequila Old Fashioned
Tequila, agave syrup and bitters over a large ice cube. The Reposado's hint of vanilla comes through beautifully.
Paloma
Tequila with grapefruit, lime and soda. With Reposado, it is just a little fuller than with Silver.
Spicy Margarita
Margarita with fresh chili pepper. The rounded Reposado balances the heat beautifully.
Tequila Sunrise
Tequila, orange juice and grenadine. The caramel notes of the Reposado complement the orange.More Patrón flavors
