Bols Young Genever
Bols's light, smooth drink: grain genever with subtle notes of malt, juniper and citrus. Straight from the freezer, poured to the rim, and you remember why the Netherlands is a genever country.

The fresh drink from the Bols range
Bols Young Genever, also called Young Grain Genever on the label, is a blend of botanicals with the malt distillate that Lucas Bols produces from wheat, rye and corn. The result is a light and exceptionally smooth genever with subtle flavors of malt, juniper and a hint of citrus.
Young says nothing about age, but everything about style. Young genever contains little malt wine, making it fresher and drier than the Zeer Oude Genever or Corenwyn from the same house. That makes it the bottle for an ice-cold drink, a kopstoot, and for anyone who wants to try genever with cola or tonic.
In short
Light, smooth and slightly citrusy
Grain and juniper
A light aroma of grain with soft juniper. Served ice-cold, the nose is restrained and fresh.
Smooth and dry
Smooth on the palate, with subtle maltiness in the background and a hint of citrus that keeps it fresh.
Short and clean
A short, clean finish in which the juniper lingers for a moment. Ideal for anyone who wants to follow it immediately with a sip of beer.
Flavor profile of Bols Young Genever neat and ice-cold. At room temperature, the malt and alcohol come through more strongly.
How to pour Bols Young Genever
Young genever should be cold. Store the bottle in the freezer to make it slightly syrupy and extra smooth.
Ice-cold and to the rim
Pour approximately 3.5 cl straight from the freezer into a tulip-shaped shot glass until it bulges above the rim. Take the first sip leaning forward, without lifting the glass.
Shot glasses →Genever and cola
40 ml Bols Jonge Jenever with 150 ml cola in a long drink glass full of ice, with a lemon wedge. An old-fashioned Dutch long drink that beautifully brings out the citrus in the genever.
Long drink glasses →Kopstoot with pilsner
A glass of ice-cold jonge genever next to a small glass of cold pilsner. First the genever, then the beer: the refreshing genever and bitter beer complement each other perfectly.
To the kopstoot →Mix with jonge genever
Jonge genever is lighter than gin, but works in the same refreshing classics. Replace the gin one-to-one and taste the difference.

Kopstoot
A shot glass of ice-cold jonge genever next to a pilsner. The classic Dutch combination.
Genever and tonic
Make a gin and tonic with jonge genever: softer and maltier, with a lemon slice.
Tom Collins
Lemon, sugar and soda water with genever instead of gin. Light, tart and thirst-quenching.
Fizz
Shaken with lemon and simple syrup, topped with soda water. Made with jonge genever, it is a refreshing aperitif.More Bols flavours
