Tanqueray No. Ten
Tanqueray for the Martini. Distilled in small batches with fresh lime, orange and pink grapefruit plus chamomile flowers, at a robust 47.3% ABV. Fresh and floral, with the juniper only appearing in the finish.

Why No. Ten tastes different
Tanqueray No. Ten starts with the same four botanicals as the London Dry: juniper, coriander, angelica and licorice. The difference lies in what is added. This gin is distilled in small batches with fresh citrus fruits, namely limes, oranges and pink grapefruit, along with chamomile flowers. This takes place in a small still called Tiny Ten, which is where the bottle gets its name.
The result is a gin that smells fresher and more floral than the London Dry, while the juniper moves into the background and only really appears in the finish. At 47.3%, it is also clearly higher than the 43.1% of the standard bottle. That higher ABV provides body and keeps the citrus standing out in a Martini, where no soft drink carries the flavor.
In brief
Grapefruit and chamomile, with juniper in the background
Fresh citrus
Vibrant grapefruit, orange and lime zest, with a soft floral note of chamomile underneath.
Full-bodied and fresh
Round and full-bodied due to the high ABV, with citrus taking center stage. The coriander adds a light spiciness without becoming sharp.
Light juniper
A clean, long finish in which the juniper only appears at the end. Dry, with a touch more grapefruit.
Flavor profile of Tanqueray No. Ten neat and chilled. In a Martini, the citrus stands out most, while with tonic, the chamomile comes through.
How to get the most out of No. Ten
This gin is all about citrus and freshness. Keep everything ice-cold and garnish with grapefruit instead of lemon.
Dry Martini with grapefruit
Stir 60 ml No. Ten and 10 ml dry vermouth with plenty of ice for thirty seconds, strain into an ice-cold martini glass, and finish with a strip of pink grapefruit peel. That's how the brand itself recommends serving it.

50 ml No. Ten in a copa full of ice, topped up with 150 ml neutral tonic and a slice of pink grapefruit. At 47.3%, it remains distinctive even with plenty of tonic.
Gin and tonic recipe →Straight from the freezer
Keep the bottle in the freezer and pour 3 cl into a small, chilled glass. The cold tempers the alcohol and brings out the aromas of chamomile and citrus peel.
