What does a pulled stem mean on a wine glass?
That bowl and stem are formed from a single piece of glass, with no join between the two parts. A joined glass usually breaks exactly at that seam, so a pulled stem makes the glass stronger and the transition visibly smoother.
Which Milano size do you choose for red wine?
The 56 cl. The wider bowl gives the wine more contact with air, so tannin softens within a quarter of an hour. Pour about 15 cl, up to the widest point of the bowl, so you can still swirl.
Are Milano wine glasses dishwasher safe?
Yes, on a programme up to around 55 degrees. Place the bowls apart so they do not knock against each other as the arm turns, and dry them with a linen cloth while the glass is still hand-warm.
Is lead-free crystalline glass the same as crystal?
Not quite. Crystalline glass has the clarity and thin wall of crystal but contains no lead. That makes it suited to daily use and to the dishwasher, whereas lead crystal has to be washed by hand.
