What is the difference between a coupe and a flute?
A flute is narrow and tall, holds on to the carbonation longer and lets the bubbles rise visibly. A coupe is wide and shallow, releases more aroma and leaves room for a garnish. For champagne on its own, most people choose the flute.
How many centilitres do these champagne glasses hold?
The flute in this range holds 17 cl and the coupe 24.5 cl. You do not fill either to the brim: count on roughly 10 to 12 cl per glass, so there is room left for the mousse and the aromas.
Are these glasses suitable for professional use?
Yes. The glass is tempered and the rim is treated separately, so the range stands up to intensive use and to stacking in a washing basket. The stem is pulled from a single piece and therefore has no glued joint that can come loose.
Can a stemmed wine glass go in the dishwasher?
It can, as long as the glasses stand upright and do not touch. Glasses that turn and knock against each other are the most common cause of breakage. Rinse with softened water to prevent a grey limescale haze on the bowl.
