What is the difference between an aroma and a spray?
A spray is atomised over the glass or the foam, where the scent evaporates within a few minutes. An aroma dosed into the shaker goes into the drink and stays noticeable to the last sip.
How much aroma do you use per cocktail?
With a spray, a single mist from about twenty centimetres away is enough. When dosing into the shaker, keep it to a few drops. Too much scent overwhelms the recipe, and that is hard to undo.
Which aroma suits which drink?
Citrus lifts fresh and sour drinks, floral notes work with clear spirits and sparkling wine, and woody or spiced aromas such as cedarwood and black pepper belong with brown spirits and bitter recipes.
How long do cocktail aromas keep?
Stored upright, in the dark and at room temperature, the bottles last a long time. If a bottle stands in the sun on the bar, it loses its top scent layer within weeks and the contents smell flatter afterwards.
