Which size should I choose for espresso?
The 8 centilitre cup. A double espresso of around six centilitres fills it to just below the rim, so the crema stays put as a closed layer. In a larger cup the crema spreads across the surface and disappears more quickly.
Are the saucers included with the cups?
No, the saucers are a separate item within the range and are supplied in sixes. They do fit under both cups, so you do not need a different saucer for each size. If you use the cups on their own, simply leave them out.
How do I remove the brown film from a glass cup?
That film is coffee oil and clings firmly to glass. A normal dishwasher cycle usually deals with it. If a haze remains, soak the cups for half an hour in warm water with a spoonful of soda and rinse them well afterwards.
Can I pour boiling water into these cups?
Luxion copes with temperature changes better than ordinary glass, but the combination of a cold cup and boiling water remains risky. Rinse the cup with hot water first. That prevents stress in the glass and keeps your coffee hot for longer as well.
